How is the size of a sea-shipping parcel measured?

-- A sea-shipping parcel is measured by its dimensional weight or volumetric weight in cubic meters (CBM) rather than its actual weight on scale.
-- The measurement rule is: Length x Width x Height = Cubic Meter.  All dimensions are measured in meter.
-- For example, a parcel package size is as follows:  750mm × 560mm ×420 mm or 75 cm × 56 cm × 42 cm. Then this parcel has a dimensional weight as:
0.75 m x 0.56 m x 0.42 m = 0.1764 CBM which will be rounded to 0.18 cubic meters.

Other information regarding sea parcel measurement:

1. The measurement is based on the package of a parcel, not the size of an item inside the parcel.
2. Measurement Rule: Length * Width * Height = CBM. All dimensions are measured in meter.
3. Any parcel that has a dimensional weight less than 0.01 CBM will be recorded as 0.01 CBM in the User Center.  The minimum chargeable size is 0.01 CBM. Thus, you may wonder how come some of your parcels look different in their sizes, but all were recorded as 0.01 CBM each in the website User Center.  It is due to the minimum chargeable size as 0.01 CBM. Those parcels are all smaller than 0.01 CBM and thus were recorded as 0.01 CBM by the measurement system even though they are indeed different in terms of actual sizes.
4. If you plan to ship any sea parcels for commercial use that contain liquid regardless of volume (e.g., detergent, liquid solution, liquid wax, and all kinds of beverage) and/or a sea parcel for personal use that contains liquid for more than 1 litre, please contact our customer service staff via WhatsApp 6588130282 to check whether an import permit is required to ship the parcel into Singapore.
5. The measurement by CBM is not applicable to goods that are unusually heavy, such as construction materials (e.g., steel, stone, tiles, and marble panels), heavy machines, and heavy equipment (e.g., gym dumbbells and irons). For those heavy merchandises, the alternative measurement rule is each 500 kg is converted to 1 CBM. For example, a parcel that contains 600 kg of gym irons will be counted as 600/500=1.2 CBM.
6. If your parcel package has an irregular shape or size, then it will be measured by taking the longest measure on each of its dimension.  For example:
