More about Shipping Fee Standards & Bulky Air Parcels 

-- Some freight forwarders apply a fixed surcharge for the first kg of an air parcel.  In Taobao2SG, we do not apply a surcharge for the first kg of your air parcels.

-- Please be advised that an air parcel is measured as per kg.  For example, a parcel which weighs 11.4 kg will be counted as 12 kg.

-- When each air parcel was received at the warehouse, our warehouse staff will measure it and record its weight into the parcel owner’s User Center.  When you submit an air shipping order, the respective weight of each parcel included in your shipping order will be summed up to a total weight for your shipping order.  We will not measure the weight of a consolidated package.   The total weight of a consolidated package is based on the summated weight of individual parcels that were previously recorded into the User Center.  

-- After you submit an air shipping order, we will pack all parcels included in your shipping order together by using durable woven fabric bags and protective tapes. The weight of a consolidated package could be larger than the summation of individual parcel weight because of the additional packing materials onto the parcels.  But we will not charge packing service fee or packing material fee.  Consolidation and packing of your air parcels are free to our customers.  We will not charge extra shipping fee even if the weight of a consolidated package is heavier than the summated weight of individual parcels.   

-- For a bulky and large-sized air parcel, its shipping fee will be based on the average of its actual weight and its dimensional weight if the dimensional weight is larger than the actual weight by more than 5 kg. 

The measurement rule of dimensional weight is:  Dimensional Weight (in kg) = Length (in cm) x Height (in cm) x Width (in cm) / 6000

For example, a parcel with its dimensional aspects as L = 80 cm, W = 40 cm and H = 40 cm is measured as (80X40X40/6000) = (128000/6000) = 21.3 kg = 22 kg by dimensional weight.  If the parcel actually weights 10 kg, then the chargeable weight of this parcel will be based on the average of the parcel's actual weight (10 kg) and its dimensional weight (22 kg).  In this case, it will be (12+22)/2 = 17 kg.  Many forwarders will charge a parcel by using the larger measurement between its actual weight and dimensional weight. We, Taobao2SG, sincerely want to help our customers to save your shipping cost, so you can enjoy more shopping from Taobao and other China e-commerce sites.  Thus, we will take 50% off from the exceeding dimensional weight. 

For a parcel with dimensional weight which exceeds its actual weight by less than 5 kg, we will waive the surcharge of dimensional weight. For example, if a parcel's actual weight is 10 kg and its dimensional weight (L x W x H) is measured as 15 kg, then the parcel will still be charged as 10 kg instead of 15 kg.  Many other forwarders will charge their customers the larger or heavier measurement between a parcel's actual weight and dimensional weight. But we will give our customers a 5 kg grace range and will not to apply additional demensioanl weight charge as long as the dimensional weight does not exceed actual weight by more than 5 kg.
